Marianne Eaves was Kentucky’s first female master distiller since the end of Prohibition. Forbidden Bourbon is the fruit of her research and experimentation, bourbon featuring white corn and white winter wheat. It’s distilled at Bardstown Bourbon Company but under her direction from grain to glass. Under Kentucky law, women used to be forbidden from sitting at bars or serving behind them. They were all too often relegated to pasting labels on bottles and answering the phones at distilleries. Fortunately, those days are gone and bourbon women like Eaves can and do create some of the finest bourbon to be found anywhere.
This flight has a small labeling quirk from the distillery. Forbidden Small Batch, Batch No. 2 says No. 1 on its vertical neck label. However, this bottle and all of Batch No. 2 get a small corrective label on the front. You will know exactly which batch you are enjoying!
