Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon was introduced in 1984 to honor Albert Bacon Blanton. He began working as a sixteen-year-old office boy at the distillery today known as Buffalo Trace back in 1897. He worked his way up to president and saw the distillery through Prohibition and beyond. He was known for treating his family and friends to his own private reserve of bourbon, handpicked and hand-bottled. It was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially, and the bottling still sets it apart, from the barrel-shaped bottle to the wax set cap that commemorates Kentucky’s other iconic industry, horse racing.
Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon is not only a great bourbon, but it also gives you the whole horse race! When you line up all eight bottles to spell BLANTONS, you will experience the thrill of horse racing from start to finish. Each letter is positioned by the rear hoof of the horse, so you can line them up right. The second N: is followed by a colon instead of an apostrophe for greater visibility.
