Blade and Bow Bourbon is named after the two parts of a skeleton key, a reference to the five keys that once hung on the door of the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Those five keys represent the five steps of making bourbon, from grains to yeast to fermentation, distillation, and aging.
Blade and Bow prides itself on using the Solera System, a historic method of transferring distillate from barrel to barrel, traditionally top to bottom level, solera, “on the ground.” These hexagonal bottles carry one of the five collectible keys around its neck.
