The burgundy label 1792 Small Batch was their original rye bourbon offering, with four later expressions demonstrating elegant variations on aging and proofing, and then 1792 Sweet Wheat venturing into a wheated bourbon mash bill. 1792 honors the year of Kentucky’s statehood and these bourbons honor the oldest working distillery in Bardstown.
Every one of these expressions is a multi-award winner. However, 1792 Full Proof is the heaviest hitter in this bottle collection, bottled at 125 proof. This is a legal barrel entry for aging bourbon and, in this case, finishing it. It’s also non-chill filtered, only passing through a plate and frame filter. It’s got the heat but maintains a smooth profile for sipping.
