Angel’s Envy Bourbon is known for its secondary finishing techniques. As with all bourbon, aging begins in new charred oak, and approximately 5% a year is lost to the angels’ share. Angel’s Envy founder and master distiller Lincoln Henderson joked that they “had finally struck a better deal than the angels.” After some time in the new charred oak, these bourbons are finished in used wine casks or toasted oak barrels.
